One of the things that struck me first about this shoot was how cinematic it was. Each image is a tableau from a period piece and the order and structure of the editorial moves the viewer along like a narrative. The first image seems to be taken behind some shrubs looking at the woman giving the impression that the viewer is spying. Initially we wonder who it is looking in on the woman's life. Is it another character? Perhaps we, the viewer, have taken on that role. Each still is a scene for us to figure out.
